ICI Announces Corrado Camera To Join ICI Global
Financial policy expert to support ICI Global’s mission in the EU
Washington, DC; July 19, 2022—The Investment Company Institute (ICI) announced today that Corrado Camera will join ICI Global as Director, Public Policy and Regulation, based in Brussels. ICI Global represents the worldwide regulated investment fund industry and the interests of long-term investors.
“We’re excited for Corrado to bring his deep insight into European policymaking and international relationships to ICI Global. I know first-hand from my previous opportunity to work with Corrado that he is a unique talent—well-known and highly regarded as an expert in Brussels by policymakers and by industry,” said Michael Pedroni, Chief of ICI Global. “EU financial regulation is closely intertwined with other major jurisdictions, and there is no better individual than Corrado to help us grow ICI Global’s reach, influence, and connections in Europe and worldwide.”
“I’m honored to join the ICI Global team to help advance the analysis and understanding of regulated investment funds and their investors in Europe,” said Camera. “I look forward to working with policymakers in Brussels and across the EU, seeking to ensure that the regulated funds sector supports key priorities such as the development of the capital markets union and improvements to the framework for retail investment.”
An Italian citizen, Camera served as Senior Advisor to the US Treasury Representative in Europe, where over the course of almost two decades he has been instrumental in helping to develop public policy and provide insight, advice, and analysis to Treasury leadership and to five US Ambassadors to the European Union. He is a veteran of the US-EU financial regulatory forums and the ongoing global dialogue on regulatory inter-operability across jurisdictions.
Prior to joining the US Mission to the EU, Camera led an Italian regional representation to the EU. He holds a Master’s in Translation from the University of Geneva and studied Economics and European Integration at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
